What We Believe
We believe there is only one true God who has been revealed to us in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe the Bible is uniquely God's Word. It was given to God's people without error. Everything we need to know for life and the ways of God is found in its pages. The Bible is the way in which we know God, so Bible reading and explanation are always at the center of our worship service.
Our Purpose
The purpose of our church existence is to worship God who created us and redeems us through Jesus Christ.
Houston Oromo Evangelical Church exists to declare peace and salvation of Jesus Christ through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.
Our Mission
Our mission is to know God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to equip believers through discipleship.
We strive to reach out to the hungry Oromo community in the Houston Texas area in a language and culture meaningful to them. Our plan is to build them to be an authentic community of believers, send them into ministry, and reach a hungry world with Jesus Christ through obedience to the great commission.
